Update: RT 11 Reopens After Car, Tractor-Trailer Crashed Into PA Home

UPDATE: Route 11 between Shippensburg and Newville reopened around 3:20 p.m. on Thursday, according to Pennsylvania state trooper Megan Ammerman.

A tractor-trailer crashed into a central Pennsylvania home on Thursday around noon, according to Pennsylvania state police.

The crash happened on Ritner Highway/Route11 near Stoughstown Road on Mar. 24, according to a release by trooper Megan Ammerman.

The crash also involved a car with entrapment, according to emergency dispatchers.

A helicopter was called to the scene but was unable to assist due to the weather, according to dispatchers and emergency radio scanners.

It is unclear how many people or vehicles are involved and the extent of any injuries.

The public is asked to avoid the area, Ammerman says.
